Product Review: Dior Addict Lip Gloss

I have recently purchased the Dior Addict Gloss in the colour No Angel (353). I must say that at first I was quite sceptical about it, just because it was so expensive (mine was thirty dollars and change). I swatched it in the store and really did love it. It's a very sheer, shimmery pink. I'm inclined to call it a baby pink, but that wouldn't do it justice.

What about this that drew me in was the packaging. The bottle is a clear plastic (not the cheap kind) rectangle with "Dior" engraved every so slightly into it. Sleek, eh? (I'm Canadian, sorry!) The bottle allows you to see the colour of the product inside, and the fact that there is just half a centimetre separating the end of the bottle and the product, gave it that futuristic feel. The cap follows through with that glass rectangle idea but then, at the very top the design changes. It moves into a circular bubble that is shiny and reflective. Finally - the applicator. Oh. My. Goodness. I have been searching high and low for a paint brush applicator! This slides on super easy and is way easier to manoeuvre as opposed to the regular ones. This is just heavenly! It feels like a I'm getting a massage every time I apply it.

Enough about the packaging, now on to the product. Let me just tell you, this thing took me all throughout the night. Eating and drinking included. I left the house at seven and got back at eleven. When I got home I saw that my new baby was still sitting on my vanity! I looked in to the mirror to see that this gloss barely budged! I was thrilled to know my money was spent on something that was worth while.

Not only is this miracle fluid long lasting, it also doesn't dry out your lips. You know how lip glosses and lipsticks can leave your lips feeling crackly and just plain gross? This, my friend is the answer to your problems.

This product is so natural on the lips but adds that extra oomph (is that a word) that I was looking for. In my opinion, everyone needs this product. Definite staple in my makeup drawer! (This may just have to make my May favourites!)

Thrifty Living

A couple of weeks ago, my Mom and I made it our "mission" to find me an attractive way to store all of the products that were beginning to excessively flow out of my vanity, bookshelf and closet.

I'll be honest, by addiction to lotions, facial washes, nail polish and pretty much everything else under the sun was pretty bad (I still don't have it under control!). This overindulgent problem that was constantly occurring, finally motivated my Mom and I to decide to plan a day that would be dedicated to thrifting out consignment shops for the perfect piece. (Sorry, I don't have the shop's name)

I was sure that it was going to be pretty hard to find something to match my room decor and colour scheme. (It's kind of got a French/European feel to it. There main colours are both cream and white, with accents of soft taupe and muted greens) Boy was I right! We had a list of ten stores, and went to seven. Just as I was about to give up, my Mom spotted quite the hidden gem. The man who worked there however, called it a 1960's secretary desk, I tend to disagree.

This beauty is just an ounce lighter than my wall colour, which in and of itself was pure perfection. There is one main door that comes down, and on the front of it, there is a pattern that is in between floral and leafy. There is one shelf on the top and the bottom of the main functional area with the same accent pattern on top of each shelving unit. And inside of the door-ish thing (excuse the grammar mishap) there are about ten small but very deep shelving units. Larger items cannot be stored there, so it's used for my lotions and such.

This piece really does tie my whole room together. It not only minimizes the never ending clutter in my room, but also brightens it up with its soft, creamy colour. By the way, this steal was just ninety-seven dollars. If I may say so myself, that was quite the steal. Especially since there was no bargaining needed!

Thrifting is my new fetish.

Hello there!

Hello there!

Welcome to my channel, along with my first blog post! I have a passion for fashion, a love for beauty and quite an outlook on life. I am starting this blog to give myself a sense of freedom and creative integrity. And for whoever is reading this, I would love to act as both an inspiration and someone you can look to as a source of entertainment.

Something I find is always missing from people's first blog post is why they are here doing what they're doing. That is what I am going to tell you next. I've decided to create my own blog because I feel that everyone has an opinion and view on life. However, there are not enough people in the world that share it. I would like to give you my opinions and observations on what I think is interesting, pretty, funny, ugly, and just plain upsetting. Also, I'd like to be able to inspire people just like yourself to know that it's okay. It's okay to express yourself. It's okay to cry. It's okay to disagree. It's okay to hurt. It's okay to feel alone. It's okay to laugh for no reason. It's okay. Trust me.

Although I am quite young, I can openly admit that there was a time in my life (not long ago) where I was not okay. And to be honest, I am still healing from that rough time in my life. Something that not enough people understand is that no one is perfect, no one has it altogether. I'll be the first to admit, I don't.

Anyways, this is my first upload and it's not meant to be depressing. What I am trying to get at is that this will be my new outlet. I would like people to be able to understand and relate to what I am going through. After all the bitching, fighting and screaming, we're all human. And one day you're going to sit back and laugh at that. Because as messed up and sadly true as it may sound, we're all the same.
